The Union Executive consists of 10 members, the 3 Sabbaticals, 6 Part-Time Officers who are elected by you the students and the Chairperson of the Student Representative Council who is appointed by the President. They meet regularly to discuss issues brought up at Student Representative Council and Students’ Union business.
They help to implement students’ ideas, coordinate and run campaigns, support student-led activities and campaigns, and represent the students’ voice and best interests with the college at every level. The Exec is essentially the ‘cabinet’ of the SU. They meet in accordance with the ITSSU Constitution. They provide officer reports to the SRC on things which have been done on their behalf and give feedback on meetings which they have attended.
President – Dáire Martin
The President is the CEO of the Union and is responsible for the implementation of all aspects of Union policy. They are the principle spokesperson of the Union and has overall responsibility for the coordination of all Union affairs. The president and their nominees sit on the IT Sligo Governing Body and Academic Council.

Vice President/Education Officer – Keelan Kennoy
The Vice President/Education Officer is responsible for the general educational affairs of all students of IT Sligo. The VP for Education is responsible for the recruitment of Class Reps and they conduct and coordinate all the Unions educational campaigns.

Vice President/Welfare Officer – Saskia Dooley
The Vice President/ Welfare Officer is responsible for the general welfare of all students of IT Sligo. They work work together with the Student Health Services, Access Office and Student Support Services in the IT. This is to help expand the Health, Welfare and Support Services and communicates Union policies on Welfare in the IT. Also responsible in the coordination and running of welfare campaigns on campus.

Campaigns Officer – James Lawlor Kerr
The Campaigns Officer is responsible for the coordination of all Union endorsed campaigns both on and off-campus. They are responsible for identifying relevant campaigns at a national level and advising the President of its relevance and importance to the members.
Clubs & Societies Officer – Clodagh O’Brien
The Clubs & Soc’s Officer is a spokesperson for the Clubs & Societies in the SU. They sit on any councils or committees that may be convened by the college. They also aid and encourage new Clubs & Societies to set up and they communicate relevant Union policy to those operating in the institute.
Entertainments Officer – Uncontested
The Ents Officer is responsible for the provision of entertainments and other forms of social and cultural activity for Union members in conjunction with the sabbatical officers. They will assist sabbatical officers to plan, coordinate and review all entertainment activities and events for the SU.
Equality Officer – Hannah Brennan
The Equality Officers job is to stop any form of discrimination against students’ in IT Sligo. To this end, they will initiate relevant campaigns in order to highlight breaches of equality, which affect members of the Union within the IT. They will work in conjunction with the relevant committees in the IT to achieve these aims.
Irish Language – Uncontested
The Irish Language Officer is responsible for the coordination of all Irish language campaigns and the promotion of the Irish Language both on and off-campus. They have a duty of identifying relevant campaigns at national levels and advising the President of its relevance and importance to the members of the Students’ Union.
Mature Student Officer – Uncontested
The Mature Student Officer is responsible for liaising with mature students to establish any needs they may have and bring these to the attention of the President. They have a duty of identifying relevant campaigns and coordinating campaigns which highlight issues which are relevant to mature students.
The Chair of the Student Representative Council – To be appointed
The Chairperson of the SRC is a Presidential appointee and is ratified by the SRC. They chair the SRC and sit on the SU Executive.
